At least two consultations are required before the operation.

Firstly, a pre-operative check-up should be carried out with Dr Santini.

This preliminary consultation is designed to verify your expectations and the indications for liposuction. The medical and artistic examination will check for the presence of fat deposits, and ensure the absence of other chin anomalies that could alter its physiognomy (sagging skin, chin protruding progeny...).

Secondly, a consultation with the anesthesiologist must be carried out within 48 hours of the operation, to ensure that the patient has no contraindications.

For patients who so wish, double chin liposuction can be performed under general or local anaesthetic.

Anesthesia is usually local, with neuroleptanalgesia, for optimum comfort and rapid recovery: discharge is then possible the same evening.

For general anaesthesia in particular, you will be required to fast for 6 hours before the procedure, i.e. not to eat or drink anything.

Finally, it is important to completely stop taking any medication containing aspirin for 10 days prior to chin liposuction.

In the case of chronic treatment with anticoagulants, it is necessary to obtain the approval of the prescribing physician (vascular physician, cardiologist, etc.).

This procedure is not performed at Dr. Santini's practice, but at the clinic where she works.

The principle of liposuction is the aspiration of fatty deposits by a small, very fine cannula, introduced through a 3 mm incision behind the chin crease, and therefore invisible.

In this way, liposuction of the double chin treats fat in the superficial and deeper planes.

To achieve this, Dr Christelle Santini sweeps evenly, without forcing the suction, which could create areas of depression on the skin (a corrugated-sheet appearance). Her aesthetic eye helps her to harmonize the entire face and neck, restoring the tissues' dynamic lines and appearance.

The procedure takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

A chinstrap-type contention bandage is left in place for a few days.
