How does OnDa CoolWaves treatment work?

OnDa CoolWaves is the latest generation of patented microwave body contouring technology. This innovative machine effectively and non-invasively treats localized fat deposits, cellulite and sagging skin.

The treatment is effective on different parts of the body, such as the trunk, abdomen, buttocks and thighs. The OnDa CoolWaves platform has a deep, targeted effect, without damaging surrounding tissue.

In fact, 2.45 GHz microwaves are guided by electromagnetic fields and release their energy only in the targeted tissues. This energy is then transformed into heat to permanently destroy subcutaneous fat cells, avoiding energy dispersion and preventing overheating with possible skin damage. Thermolipolysis is definitive, as fat cells are unable to regenerate.

What are the main actions of Onda CoolWaves?

The OnDa CoolWaves system penetrates deep into the membranes of subcutaneous fat cells. This thermolipolysis is definitive, with cell death by irreversible apoptosis. The effect is not immediately visible, as the destroyed fat cells and their fat vacuoles are eliminated by macrophages and the lymphatic system, without passing into the bloodstream. The surrounding tissue then thins within a few weeks and takes on a new shape, giving it a finer appearance on which the elastic skin reshapes the new contours.

The result is smoother, firmer, plumper skin, particularly on the front of the thighs, stomach and buttocks.

Cellulite is a real scourge, particularly among women, as it affects the majority of them, including slim, athletic patients. Cellulite takes the form of an "orange peel" appearance, bumps and/or dimples on the thighs, buttocks, abdomen or arms.

It is mainly linked to the accumulation of fat cells in the subcutaneous tissue, associated with edema (water retention). Hormonal changes play an essential role in this contour anomaly.

While various treatments can reduce the effects of cellulite, the OnDa Cool Waves device is particularly effective and has no side effects.

Treatment of sagging skin with OnDa Cool Waves

As your skin ages, it loses tone and sags.

This is due to the breakdown of collagen, the substance that gives skin its tone and firmness. Factors such as weight gain or pregnancy aggravate this skin sagging.

Localized fat treatment with OnDa Cool Waves Paris

The OnDa Cool Waves® system also eliminates localized fat and body contouring (abdomen, back, love handles, thighs and knees), thanks to medical microwaves. These target a superficial (7mm) or deep (16mm) level of depth, depending on the area of the body and the imperfections to be treated.

The aim is to accelerate the lysis of fat cells under the effect of heat, before the dead cells are eliminated naturally by the lymphatic system, resulting in effortless slimming in just a few weeks.

First, Dr. Santini will take a final look at the areas to be treated, in order to set up the Onda Cool Waves platform correctly. An assistant will then apply mineral oil to the targeted area, and use a dedicated handpiece to proceed with the treatment, under Dr. Santini's medical supervision.

The session is not painful, with at most a sensation of slight heat.

A cooling system is integrated to limit pain for the most sensitive patients.

The duration of an OnDa Cool Waves session is variable. It depends on the number of areas to be treated. The treatment protocol for a 15×15 cm area lasts approximately 10 minutes.

Approximately 4 sessions are required, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. Depending on the condition of the skin and the extent of cellulite, Dr. Santini may recommend more sessions. A maintenance session is then recommended approximately every 4 months.

The optimal effect on slimming or skin firming takes an average of 2 months, the time it takes for tissue remodeling to be completed.
