General information about Bodytite treatment

Bodytite treatment is a radiofrequency technique that involves inserting a cannula (a thin, round-tipped needle) beneath the skin's surface. This needle then diffuses heat, which immediately retracts the skin and reduces fat through lipolysis. The heat also induces a phenomenon of neo-collagenesis: the skin is stimulated to produce more collagen and elastin, the two proteins necessary for its maintenance and hydration.

This technique has a double advantage in terms of its effectiveness in lifting the skin, and its low invasiveness: it leaves no scars. It is therefore an excellent alternative to the classic facelift.

Which areas should Bodytite treat?

Bodytite treatment is particularly indicated for sagging skin, especially on the back, stomach and chest. The procedure can also be used to treat areas with more fragile skin, such as the inner thighs or arms.

In addition to the effects of skin ageing, BodyTite also helps to tighten the skin after weight loss. As a result, it can be combined with liposuction, when this procedure leaves the skin slack. The technique is also highly effective for tightening the skin and correcting undulations associated with cellulite and "orange peel" skin.

Finally, BodyTite can be applied to specific areas of the face, such as the eyelids,double chin, nasolabial folds and eyebrows.

However, this technique has certain contraindications, in particular:

  • Pregnant or breast-feeding;
  • Taking any anticoagulant treatment;
  • Suffer from blood coagulation disorders.

What happens during a Bodytite procedure at Dr. Santini's?

Before any procedure, an initial consultation with Dr. Santini is necessary to conduct a medical examination of the area to be treated, eliminate any contraindications, and design a treatment plan that meets your expectations and needs.

After a waiting period of at least 15 days, the operation can be carried out. It takes place on an outpatient basis and lasts around two hours. It requires the application of a general anaesthetic.

After disinfecting the area to be treated, the surgeon makes fine incisions (2 to 3 mm) to insert the cannula. The cannula is fitted with an electrode that develops a temperature ranging from 38°C to 70°C. This operation enables several procedures to be carried out at the same time:

  • Fat liposuction;
  • Lipolysis;
  • Skin tightening;
  • Fibroblast stimulation.

The aftermath of Bodytite surgery

The after-effects of the treatment are slight. Slight swelling and bruising may occur in the treated area during the procedure. These side effects are common and benign. They fade within a few days.

No social eviction is necessary. However, it is advisable to rest for 2 to 3 days after the operation. Excessive physical effort should be avoided. A compression garment should be worn for 4 weeks.

The results of a Bodytite session

Results can be seen after several months, once post-operative oedema has subsided. The skin will be noticeably tighter, and the lines of the body and face will be more aesthetically pleasing, thanks to the production of new collagen and the contraction of skin tissue. Results last for 5 years, with a stable weight.

Rates for Bodytite treatment with Dr Santini
